Intertidal Kinning Festival
It was an honour to facilitate a community engaged art-making workshop during the Intertidal Kinning Festival 2024, hosted by Other Sights at the legendary Blue Cabin Floating Artist Residency in Steveston, BC. The festival celebrated care and connection with the Fraser Estuary, a vital ecosystem that supports an incredible diversity of life. During my workshop, participants were invited to explore the river’s changing ecology through ephemeral analog photographic processes. We created prints using aerial imagery I provided, along with sediment gathered from the riverbank and local flora. These nature based materials offered a tactile and reflective experience rooted in place.
It was truly a joy to work alongside Ihomehea and Other Sights at this historic cabin, and to share space with such a kind and curious community.
